Om uppdraget

Vi söker en metodingenjör till vår kund i Eskilstuna inom tung industri. Avdelningen är part and service engineering med ca 20 medarbetare som fokuserar på metod- och serviceutveckling, teknisk dokumentation och reservdelsghantering för hjullastare och komponenter som axlar, transmissioner och motorer.

Detta är ett spännande arbete i en internationell miljö med stora utvecklingsmöjligheter både professionellt och personligt. Du blir en del av ett engagerat team som strävar efter att leverera högkvalitativa tjänster och möta kundernas behov med kostnadseffektiva lösningar.

Som Metodingenjör blir du en nyckelperson i att planera och utveckla service- och reparationsmetoder, genomföra tidsstudier och ta fram specialverktyg. Du kommer att samarbeta tätt med tekniska skribenter för att beskriva metoderna och publicera materialet i eftermarknadssystem. Din roll innebär också att kontinuerligt utveckla och underhålla arbetssätt samt att planera metoder för eftermarknadsutrustning och tillbehör. Du kommer att delta aktivt i nyutvecklingsprojekt med fokus på servicenivå och kundfokus.

Vem du är

Vi söker dig som motiveras av att förbättra, innovera och utveckla metoder. Du drivs av självutveckling och förbättringsarbete och har praktisk erfarenhet och maskinkunskap, gärna av entreprenadmaskiner. Du är affärsorienterad, noggrann och gillar att ge god service. Main Tasks/Responsibilities:

Conduct Train the Trainer events to secure successful product launches and deliver training to dealer personnel;

Mechanical and Simulation Engineering is a department in the Volvo Construction Equipment Wheel Loader organization in Eskilstuna. The team focuses on mechanical design for Wheel Loaders as well as supporting the organisation with calculations and simulations. In this role you will be responsible for the existing reliability verification process for complete machine. You will participate in all major machine projects from early planning to production start. Your task is to analyze and identify the need for testing, set test plans and evaluate the test results. You will also do analyses of large amounts of data from existing machines on the market.


You will also lead the work of introducing verification based on virtual methods, computer simulations and calculations. The aim is to replace expensive and time-consuming testing.
You will collaborate with colleagues in Volvo that work with verification and quality in machine design. OM TJÄNSTEN
Dellner Dampers snabba tillväxt gör att de för närvarande utökar sitt team med ytterligare en utvecklingsingenjör. De utmanande projekten som du kommer utveckla och driva är företagets egna produkter samt olika kundprojekt, du kommer vara projektdeltagare i flera projekt samtidigt. Du är med ifrån starten i projekten och i samarbete med konstruktörer följer du med hela vägen till validering och provning av produkten. Det är stora krafter så stor del av provning sker i Italien, det kan innebära en resa per kvartal med någon övernattning.

Ca 80% av våra tekniska projekt är emot tågindustrin och 20% mot andra industriprojekt, framförallt är det mekaniska och hydrauliska komponenter.

Vi söker dig som:

Background of thesis project:
Sustainability including climate change are the challenges of our generation. Volvo’s contribution is to offer leading transport and infrastructure solutions enabling societies to prosper in a sustainable way. Hydrogen based Fuel cell technology offers a sustainable solution for the off-road segment, but it comes with its own share of challenges.
A proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) converts hydrogen and oxygen into electricity from an electrochemical reaction, resulting in water as a by-product. In order to reach maximum energy density liquid hydrogen can be used. Liquid hydrogen has a temperature of -253°C and therefor cooling and insulation is important to take in consideration when utilizing this technology.
Description of thesis work:
The target of the thesis is to develop a working concept model for liquid hydrogen tanks.
Details:
Get familiar with fuel cell technology and hydrogen storage.
Perform a literature study on liquid hydrogen characteristics.
Understand the needs and challenges of implementing a solution for off-road machines.
Design a simulation model to study liquid hydrogen tanks and usage of them.
Perform needed case studies with the model to determine design criteria for off-road usage.


Suitable background of student:
Students pursuing their Masters in Energy Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or any related studies.
It is advantageous if you have prior experience in topics related to fuel cell and electrochemistry.
You should have an interest in innovation, curiosity to learn new things, good communication skills and an eagerness to understand.

Om arbetsplatsen och uppdraget

Avdelningen Utveckling och Verksamhetsstöd ansvarar bl.a. för genomförande av uppdrag och interna utvecklingsprojekt inom områdena fortifikation, digitalisering, energi och miljö. Som  beräkningsingenjör arbetar du på enheten fortifikatorisk skydd som bland annat består av specialister och uppdragsledare.  Arbetsklimatet är självständigt och innebär ett stort mått av ansvarstagande, samarbetsförmåga samt stor förståelse för att arbeta i en miljö med hög sekretess.

Som beräkningsingenjör arbetar du med: 


• Simulering av skyddskonstruktioner och skyddsprodukter utsatta för dynamiska belastningar. Belastningarna genereras företrädesvis vid olika typer av detonationer. Flödes och strukturberäkningar, FSI, genomförs där belastningen kan fortplanta sig i exempelvis luft eller vatten och sedan påverkar konstruktionen/produkten.

Dina kvalifikationer och egenskaper

Vi söker dig som är civilingenjör, disputerad eller nyutexaminerad inom byggnadsteknik, maskin, teknisk fysik, väg och vatten eller liknande eller med några års yrkeserfarenhet. Du är en van användare av Office-paketet samt har goda kunskaper i engelska. Körkort klass B är ett krav.

Det är meriterande med erfarenhet av beräkning med LS-dyna eller annan explicit kod. Teoretisk kunskap om ickelinjära materialmodeller och erfarenhet av simulering av explosionsbelastade strukturer är fördelaktigt om du har. Vi ser gärna att du har erfarenhet av arbete som konstruktör inom Bygg med erfarenhet av betongkonstruktion.

Work / Role description System engineer.
We are in a transition phase into new sustainable technologies, this role will give you the opportunity to act, learn and grow. It will offer you technical challenges and give you the chance to interact and collaborate with fantastic colleagues from all around the world.


Your main responsibility will be to simulate the fuel cell system in terms of performance and system functionality. You will be part of the work through the complete design phase, from start to product maintenance


Activities that could be included in the role:
Simulation of the system functionality and performance to optimize the product.
Simulation of energy consumption and predictive models, thermal management and fuel consumption optimization based on machine duty cycles.
Develop simulation cases based on machine duty cycles and system limitations.
Support machine testing and rig development including evaluation of data.
Support the definition of requirements and design of the system.
Be part of verification and validation for the fuel cell system and machine integration.

Within the department you will contribute to the long-term Fuel cell system roadmap and identify improvement areas as well as competence needs.


Who Are You?

Thermal management engineer – Engine Auxiliary Systems
 
The Engine Auxiliary Systems department within Volvo CE is currently responsible for developing components for cooling, exhaust, air intake, AdBlue and low pressure fuel systems for 4-16L engines to our off-road machinery. Job description


Your main tasks as a thermal management engineer will be to simulate and design systems and components for thermal control of electrified drive trains.  
The simulation part in your role will both consist of securing correct thermal behavior for different stakeholders to the thermal management system, and also securing correct behavior of de-coupled components in the thermal management system.


The design part in your role will consist of developing needed components for the thermal management system in close co-operation with suppliers and partners. Main part of work will initially be done in advanced engineering programs, but over time the work will be transferred into industrialization projects. In industrialization projects, you will be involved in providing thermal management solutions for products released to market on a large scale. To be successful in your role, it is therefore essential that you have a solid understanding of correct QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Features) for your systems and components.
 
The work is performed within our team of engineers at Engine Auxiliary Systems in Eskilstuna, where you will work closely with a component owner in planning your initiatives in both advanced engineering programs and industrialization projects. Together with us as a team, you will be able to grow in your knowledge areas as well as helping us and our company to grow our knowledge on our journey towards sustainable transport solutions
 
The work is done in a highly global environment with internal as well as external customers and partners. Good communication and cooperation skills are essential. Some travelling will be required.
 
Education / Competence:
