As our new colleague you will be part of a high performing team with a great team spirit. In the role as Test Engineer, you will work with verification and validation of functions in the machines. You have the opportunity to work with testing during the entire design process and lifecycle of the product, from advance engineering and early project phases to industrialization of new products and product maintenance. As our new Test Engineer, you will plan and execute testing activities in complete machines and write reports after completed tests, both on your own and in collaboration with colleagues and different stakeholders. You will also work on the development of test methods and be the interface out at customers during field test.

What will you be doing?


The role is working proactively and include focus on EMC by design and supporting design and verification engineers in various projects to secure that the electrical system is EMC compliant.
Ensure that proper EMC requirements are raised on components through:
Reviewing of EMC part of component Technical Regulation, standards and legislations
Being an active part in the maintenance of Volvo EMC standard, processes and methods within the domain of EMC
Contribution in various projects through:
Hands-on advice/support for Project leaders, design engineers and Component owners
Review suppliers EMC test plan (setups and EMC test descriptions)
Evaluate need for, plan, prepare and execute ESA (Electronic Sub Assembly) testing in projects when needed. Supplier is primarily responsible for ESA testing.
Support in plan, prepare and execute Complete Machine EMC testing upon request
Review test reports
Give EMC recommendation for acceptance of EMC test results based on suppliers or other EMC test results analysis.
Continuously develop an understanding for the machine electrical system and the EMC environment in which the components shall operate in
Continuously develop an understanding of the usage of the product as an end customer
Evaluate new methods/methodologies (e.g. supervision, simulation)

What We Offer?


In the role as Component owner – Thermal management systems, you will be an important person in the development of our thermal management systems. You will work through and with a team of engineers responsible for thermal simulations of the systems, design of components used in the thermal management systems, requirement specifications for SW control of system and also verification requirements of thermal management systems. You will be involved from the very beginning and throughout the entire projects, including the maintenance part when products have been launched. Main activity in this position is to plan work for the team and act as technical project lead for the deliveries of the team. The team´s deliveries are e.g.:
System architecture for thermal management systems to Volvo CE machines using battery, fuel cell or internal combustion engines as power source
Simulations to qualify correct system architecture
Performance and durability requirements for the components.
Legal requirements for the components and systems
Road maps for future alternatives, aligned with commercial requirements.
Verification requirements to ensure customer expectations are met.
Product maintenance of the components and systems

The end application is construction equipment machines such as wheel loaders, excavators, and articulated haulers. The work is done in close cooperation with both your team and colleagues responsible for software development. Since the thermal management system is an integrated system with different stakeholders, you will also be in close contact with departments working with driveline solutions, departments doing complete machine development, and purchasing organizations aligning supplier strategies

We are a diverse group of engineers where one of our responsibilities are to test and verify our Embedded Software platforms. Embedded Electronic Systems (EES) Architecture is a function within Volvo CE’s Technology organization. What will you be doing?
As Functional safety Engineer you are responsible for assuring the functional safety of our products within the Embedded electronic system function, by performing functional safety management activities through the life cycle of the product (System, Software, Hardware).


Perform appropriate functional safety analysis to ensure product development activities are performed according to relevant functional safety standards ensure that the systems and components delivered are in line with the best functional safety practices and at the same time compliant with the other features and functionalities of the system.


Support home organization to ensure safety standard compliance according to appropriate standards like IEC61508, ISO13849, ISO19014 or ISO 26262


Facilitate safety standard related activities in the home line organization such as creations of HARA, Functional safety concepts, technical safety concepts, DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, compliance matrix and safety case


Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles


Perform System design using SYSML / Modelling tools like Enterprise Architect.

As Measurement & Calibration Engineer, you will join our Maintenance & Testing Technology team in Eskilstuna. You will sit on the driving seat to implement emission related legal requirements with regards to method development, make sure requirements are fulfilled when it comes to measurements connected to engine certification testing. You are the person who analyses changes and updates in legal requirements from emission regulatory authorities, initiates and secures changes needed in methods, protocols and documentation for compliance.


In this role you are also responsible for calibration methods, evaluation, documentation and instructions for test equipment to secure measurement uncertainty and traceability. All based on ISO and Volvo internal standards.

Kvalifikationer

Mechanical and Simulation Engineering is a department in the Volvo Construction Equipment Wheel Loader organization in Eskilstuna. The team focuses on attachment design for Wheel Loaders as well as supporting the organisation with calculations and simulations. As Product Specialist within Machine Solutions, you will be deeply engaged in developing and maintaining the platforms needed to deliver our services.


The key focus area for this position is both on coordinating machine assists that is driven by the Product Platforms as load, haul and dig assists and also owning the development of the generic machine assists. Main Responsibilities:
Participate in VCE’s projects as machine data and systems expert
Monitor the quality of machine data
Defining product requirements (specifications, life cycle…)
Track and identify product defects and issues, take action(s) to solve issues
System evolution and tradeoffs cross platform sizes
Secure design consistency cross all products and platforms
Creation of Product configurations based on defined systems configurations, based on Product architectures and strategies defined
Review and approve CR and MR related to Product Proactive interface for Product inquiries, demands and tradeoffs

The team focuses on Mechanical design of attachments for Wheel Loaders and different type of simulations. You will also perform simulations and analysis to support different engineering teams. You will collaborate with colleagues in Volvo that drive development of model implementation in machine design. What you will do
As a senior system engineer you will be responsible for the Volvo CE system functionality within our new connectivity platform, your main focus will be to secure specific autonomous needs. The platform is a Volvo Group solution, consisting of an on-board and an off-board part. Your main task is to provide the connectivity and infrastructure needed to enable connected services/functions for the autonomous area. You will also secure uptime and productivity services for all Volvo CE machines from a safety and quality perspective.

You will work in an agile team consisting of product owner, scrum master and engineers (hardware, verification and software). You and the team will define the use cases together, break it down to requirements and set the system architecture together with all stakeholders to provide a scalable, global and easy-to-maintain solution. In addition to providing the technical solutions you will also take part in pre-studies, demos and strategic choices.

Who are you
You are a senior engineer with a relevant degree within computer science, electronics or equivalent. We expect you to have experience within at least two of the following areas: embedded systems, product development and telecommunication. You have basic understanding of various connectivity enablers like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Satellite, 4G/5G and the willingness and capacity to accommodate the right level of competence fast. Experience within data management is beneficial.

With a passionate and innovative mind, you are eager to drive and explore new areas within connectivity for Volvo CE together with the expertise in Volvo Group.
